年10月14日，习近平总书记在深圳经济特区建立40周年庆祝大会上发表重要讲话，强调要“规划建设好河套深港科技创新合作区”。
河套深港科技创新合作区地处深圳-香港边界区中部，面积3.89平方公里，由位于深圳河南侧0.87平方公里的香港园区（港深创新及科技园）和深圳河北侧3.02平方公里的深圳园区组成。自年以来，政策研究、工程建设、项目引进、空间整备、跨境基础设施建设等重点工作有序推进。
为更好地凸显深圳园区区域特色，促进深圳园区的全面发展，提升深圳园区全球推广形象和国际化品牌影响力，中共深圳市福田区委宣传部面向全社会公开征集河套深港科技创新合作区深圳园区VI形象设计地标标识物设计。
